Helsley "leaking oil"

Mets take him out to a chorus of Boooooos

He has given up at least one run in 7 of his last 8 appearances.

not good

I’d love to bring Bader back as a RH compliment in CF to whichever of our LH options we decide on.

7 of his last ____ appearances? I think you missed a number there.

Yes, but Mets fans got to cheer a walk-off hit to win the game.
Nimmo would not have been the hero without Helsley .
:D :) :)

I'll be curious to see the contract Helsley gets this offseason. What a terrible contract year for him.

He'll be lucky to get a 1-year "prove it" deal.

Sounds like a candidate for a more expensive version of what we did with Maton. I would gladly take Helsley back on a prove it deal. Either flip him again at the deadline or keep him if both he and the team are doing well.

Yeah, a prove it deal could be good for both him and the Cardinals if it's reasonable. We shall see what his offers are.

Per the game highlights, Bader hit his HR off a 99 mph fastball. That part certainly sounds familiar.

That would make a ton of sense, but it'd have to be cheap like Maton too.

It certainly won't be as cheap as Maton was, hence me saying "a more expensive version", but I think the idea makes a lot of sense. Or maybe you can even get him on a multi-year deal cheap if he wants to come back and other teams are apprehensive about him. This only makes sense if ownership is going to spend money to fill out the rest of the roster as well, otherwise you sign him for a year and look to flip him again (in the event we aren't a playoff contender).
