Milan Lucic on a PTO

Post by kimzey59 »

Blues are bringing Milan Lucic to camp on a PTO.
Some kind of weird glich going on with the headline not showing up as a link in the news section.

Doubt he wins a spot, but he'd be an amazing player/coach for Springfield.

Army wanting some sideshow entertainment? He’s 37 with tough miles on his body. Hope it doesn’t take any meaningful developmental time away from a prospect.

I guess he was with Montgomery in Boston, so maybe they had a good relationship. Plus he went into the player assist program. Monty had his issue with the sauce. Probably trying to give the guy a break.

He looked slow as molasses the last few games I saw him play. I hope he doesn’t stick

It's very tempting to have a nasty customer like lucic at least available in your press box. I hate seeing schenner having to answer the bell all the time when it's not really In his best interest. Something to consider

Worst case, he fills the quota for veterans in the pre season.
Best case, we get a locker room vet who's willing to fight anyone, even his wife.

Pretty sure molasses had him beat on speed when Lucic was a rookie.
He's always been painfully slow.

Everyone step away from the ledge. PTO doesn’t mean opening night roster spot

+1. He gets a chance to extend his career and he'll be insurance in case somebody tries to Tom Wilson one of our prospects in preseason.

I guess I’m fine with it. He seems washed and I’m not thrilled with the domestic abuse angle but he also seems like he’s in a much better place than he was 2-3 years ago and his wife now supports him again. Doesn’t excuse what he did but given Lucic would’ve played for Monty in Boston and Monty’s own alcoholism and redemption story, I’m not surprised we’re giving him a chance.

At the end of the day, I don’t expect him to earn a spot. But you also don’t really know what all might transpire. Maybe one of Tex or Joseph gets moved and Lucic will show enough to stick around as the 14th forward on a league min contract. I guess we’ll see in camp/preseason.
