Who would you like to see as a Blues Hall of Famer?
It's funny, I've never seen the "Criteria" for nomination. Guess I just didn't scroll far enough.
In order to be eligible for the Blues Hall of Fame as a player, the player must have ONE or more of the following:
At least three (3) seasons or 200 games played in the Blue Note (includes regular season and playoffs).
Officially retired from the NHL.
Demonstrated exceptional attributes in the areas of playing ability, sportsmanship, character and contributions to the St. Louis Blues.
Won the Stanley Cup or a major NHL award during their tenure with the St. Louis Blues.
To be eligible as a non-player, an individual:
Must demonstrate or have demonstrated exceptional attributes in coaching, managing, executive ability, or strong ability in another significant off-ice role, sportsmanship, character and contributions to the St. Louis Blues.
May be active or inactive at the time of his/her nomination.
There will be exceptions possible for special people or significant events in Blues history.
To me, the obvious is Kelly Chase. This needs to happen this year with his health. What about?
Brendan Shanahan
Doug Gilmour
Adam Oates
Shanahan and Gilmour are absolute for me. LOVED by fans, tough as hell, and Hall of Famers. Both left under clouds. (I know Gilmour did nothing, it was bull[shirt]) Both should be in regardless, especially now that Shanahan is no longer President of the Leafs.
Oates I'm kinda meh on because of how it ended. If Oates gets in Shanahan and Gilmour should be locks.
Who am I forgetting? I know it's a lot.

Gilmour? Why?
Dude barely played here and was in a massive scandal. And nobody knows truly what happened
Never happens

Twist and Chase should have their own section in the Hall.
Oates and Turgeon are the biggest current omissions IMO.
Backes and Steen should be there eventually(we might have to wait until his GM stint ends before putting Steen in).
Ramage has all the requisite stats; but the off-ice stuff probably keeps him out(shame, he was a heck of a player).
Probably need to include Jackman at some point. The stats are underwhelming, but he is number 2 in franchise history for games played.
Given the standards being set; there's probably another dozen that need to be mentioned(Mullen, Shanny, Patey, Bouwmeester, Fuhr, Petterson for starters).

When I saw the title, I was going to say Connor McDavid or Cale Makar. However, I read the criteria and that won't work.

Just going by the title of the thread, I'd really like to see Mailloux as a Blues Hall of Famer. Broberg, Holloway, Snuggerud, etc. If a couple of these guys end up in that discussion someday, we are in for some exciting times just around the corner. I apologize but it's just where my mind went.

with this being a criteria, none noted qualify:
Won the Stanley Cup or a major NHL award during their tenure with the St. Louis Blues.

Ii read that as it was only one of the possible criteria. Not a stand alone requirementmoose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑18 Aug 2025 06:23 am with this being a criteria, none noted qualify:

Not only that but they gave themselves the biggest out ever with “Officially retired from the NHL.” as one of the criteria. Technically speaking, this would include any player that played 1+ NHL games, even those that played 0 games for the Blues. Would the Blues ever add some other orgs player that played 5 total NHL games? No, but it basically allows them to add whoever they want. Gretzky would be the most obvious they may want to include someday.Aesa wrote: ↑18 Aug 2025 11:59 amDitto.netboy65 wrote: ↑18 Aug 2025 11:30 amIi read that as it was only one of the possible criteria. Re: Who would you like to see as a Blues Hall of Famer?
Adam Oates is completely unacceptable except for the Blues Hall of Shame. What a loser. Quit on the team. Quit on the Blues. Quitter. Loser, not a man. Signed his name on the dotted line repeatedly then held out and held out. No sack to him. No ownership of things he did as a man. Never got his name on the Cup, importantly. I rooted for Lou Lamoreillo to get three Cups instead of Oates getting one. Oates is the poster child for "me instead of the team." I look down on him. It is honestly great that his name is not on the Cup.

Turgeon was a Blue for 5 seasons.TAFKAP wrote: ↑18 Aug 2025 18:04 pmTurgeon over Shanny?kimzey59 wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 20:01 pm Twist and Chase should have their own section in the Hall.

Shanny was a Blue for 4 seasons.
Both should be in there, but Turgeon has a longer history with the team.
And besides, Shanny has a lot of DeadWing-stink on him.
