Excellent interview. I want Monty to succeed so bad cause he’s so easy to like and you can tell he really loves it here in St. Louis, not to mention my admiration for him since we’re both fellow alkiholics successfully livin and enjoying life on the sobriety train, but I cant help but wonder if him bein too nice, and too much of a player’s coach, might contribute to him not being able to thrive in the playoffs and being unable to win it all. But hopefully thats just me being a worry wart and I pray lots of playoff success is forthcoming because that full chapter is far from being completed yet.

They said the same about Paul Maurice and John Cooper.

Fact is coaches have to learn how to win in the playoffs as much as players do.

His playoff record isn't awful, it is just mired in that Boston loss to the Florida Panthers.

If he wins that one it's very likely that team goes to the Stanley Cup.

Ok, get your drinks handy...
It's been weeks (true!) since I have ragged on #25, but it will be much longer until I forget his Invisibility for 98% of the Winnipeg series.
I have seen him improve in tiny fits and starts and have stated numerous times that I believe he might some day be a Playoff performer who routinely displays an obvious and relentless "desire". He does seem to have a degree of pride that has motivated him during past disasters.
I truly hope Monty is not just pumping his tires and we see the Jordan Kyrou that fights for possession when the going gets tough.
I have seen "work ethics" go straight to hell when the fear of playoff mayhem becomes too real.

I promise no more for a few more weeks, and I sincerely hope that I willingly jump back on his Bandwagon. I hope they are keeping my seat warm.

I agree.
The SCP's are a different animal than the normal season. Smallish cracks that appear can turn into ruptures and result in seesaw swings of momentum that are insane and we see it happen every year.
He ran into a tough Panther sqaud that was hungry enough to gio to three straight Finals.

We can disagree but in all fairness without looking i believe Kyou is at a 33 goal playoff pace its hard to be too critical but i get it. He is not physical he got knocked really hard in that series and it definitely looked like it effected him. Lets hope he has ample opportunity to work on his playoff attitude

He is on that pace. That is why you can't trade him without getting a stud goal scorer back. I remember "carrying" tentative and timid goal scorers on teams just for that reason. You can forgive a lot when he buries three shots, or more, per series. It's the relentless disappointment of missed opportunities on shift after shift that crushes your soul as a linemate or teammate... or as a fan. In a seven-game series it becomes tough to stomach. I think that outweighs his ability to get open for one-timers for sucessful snipes, but am in a definite minority.
And he seems to be working on it.
I understand it, but I surely don't prefer it.

It’s cool how much everyone respects Armstrong’s best friend.

I believe that he relishes feasting on "doubters".
With chipotle sauce.
