Cards could use 11-5 run next 2 1/2 weeks

Post by ramfandan »

3 with Rockies
3 NYY
3. Marlins
3 Rays
4 Pirates
Winning each of the series

Of course 12-4 would be bonus if one of thr series is swept

If the Cards can win each series thru the 27th , they could close in on the wildcard .
The Reds series then follows on the 29th.
They could be very close with September’s 27 games remaining.
Go Cards !

Games in which they have gotten good starting pitching, they have generally won. The problem is that a couple of our starters haven’t been good, especially in back-to-back starts. It’s really hard to go on any kind of a run when your starters don’t last even 3 innings.
Miles has been better at Busch, but I say if he gets rocked tonight, he needs replaced.

I could use a 50 K check to show up in my mailbox, but i don't expect that either.

You know, my intro to Cardinals winning was the surreal run by the 64 Birds. Difference between that team and the current team is several future HOF players and much better pitching. Manager was good too, he put players in the position to succeed. I do not expect this club under Capn Oli to pull that off.

Let’s check the % number at the end of
August. Odds change quickly in baseball.

If they go 11-5 they’ve got a chance.

I'm more than happy to have my interest kept, at least until college football starts.

Go illini!

That's what my goal is for them in these upcoming series to win 2 out of 3 in each series and 3 of 4 vs PIrates . That would be 11-5 OR
they could split with Pirates if during one of those four 3-game sets they can sweep a series.

The Cards have played 120 games.. 42 left . 3 behind last wildcard after tonight. Over 1/4 of the season remains. They need to start making their move now though.

1 down and 10 more to go in this 16 game stretch .
Go Cards ! Donnie gave you a nice comeback win tonight.

Cards now 1-1 for the 16 game stretch for them to have a shot.

I remember the same rallying cry when the Cardinals were about to play the Pirates, Cubs, Nats, Braves, D-Backs and Rockies, and some were predicting 12-6 or better. Result: 5-13.

And the Rockies just guaranteed a season split with these Cardinals. This team sure knows how to disappoint after brief flourishes.

Why expect anything other than 8-8?

It’s a .500 team at best

The boys played a soft 9 tonight. I don’t see a wildcard in their future.
