Offer Sheets - The Ugly Truth
Historically, only 38 offer sheets have been tendered in the NHL (as of August 2024), and only 15 of those have resulted in a player changing teams.
The St. Louis Blues have been the most frequent users of offer sheets throughout NHL history.
And if you scan the teams looking to steal players via offer sheets, it's weak teams with holes that need to be filled desperately.
Imagine the St Louis Blues last year without Broberg and Holloway!
Only on BluesTalk do you see hero-worship of a GM slinging offer sheets. Everywhere else, the fans and GMs know that it's essentially a disgrace, and the GM should be fired for being in such a desperate roster state. And then there is Army throwing 2 sheets over the wall at once.
Congrat's Blues Fans. That's some GM that we have.

Yawn. If the off-season spamming is going to happen, I’d Bleeder or Verson available?a smell of green grass wrote: ↑07 Aug 2025 21:07 pm Historically, only 38 offer sheets have been tendered in the NHL (as of August 2024), and only 15 of those have resulted in a player changing teams.

This isn’t true. The offer sheets were generally seen as a shrewd move in the media at the time and they’ve clearly worked out well for us. Only a toddler could find a way to complain about them.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑07 Aug 2025 21:07 pm Only on BluesTalk do you see hero-worship of a GM slinging offer sheets. Remember when Carolina tried to steal Federov? Good times.

I recommend watching the movie Saving Sakic on Hulu. Great NHL offer sheet story that involves our old friend (well, maybe not friend) Dave Checketts and a well known Harrison Ford movie.
Re: Offer Sheets - The Ugly Truth
Valid source said that with untendered offer sheets included blues are actually at the bottom. Could you not expand your research a bit more?! Why only include the tendered ones, that is a horribly easy take, unless you have no clue...

Just bought a new Blackstone, thinking about doing fajitas on it this weekend.

Re: Offer Sheets - The Ugly Truth
I was playing online poker last night and I made two royal flushes (was playing hold em) in the span of ten hands. I’ve played half a million hands of poker (number is probably low) both online and live and those were my 10th and 11th royals.
Too bad I was playing in PokerStars play money site last night. The math of this happening twice in ten hands is crazy. The odds of getting a RF in any random hand are 1/31000.

Last winter I nabbed a two-burner Blackstone on sale (maybe clearance?) for about $160. It's the type that has collapsible legs and two wheels on one side. I love it! Makes great smashed burgers and killer breakfast meals!

You hit the nail on the head, he has no clue and will probably never get one either.
