Showing to be a platoon player. Rarely hits a lefty, but seems cemented in the 3 spot.

Oli is a dumb (donkey).

Like almost the whole roster, he stinks.
Re: Oli says Burleson is everyday player
And MO Ran said Marmot was a MLB manager. The circle of stupid is complete.

Re: Oli says Burleson is everyday player
I could see giving Burly three starts a week—one in the OF, one at DH and one at 1B. Oh, and he bats sixth. And I’ve got two genuine thumpers hitting in front him.
Re: Oli says Burleson is everyday player
The guy who led the team in RBI last year? Seems reasonable enough.
Whch guy that he was better than last year would you sit him for?

Re: Oli says Burleson is everyday player
Just when I started to be concerned about Burleson possibly having a slide like last season. He takes one of the best swings I've seen from anybody this season against one of the top lefty relievers in the MLB this season. Go figure.
Re: Oli says Burleson is everyday player
Burly is an every day MLB player. He’s a 6 or 7 hitter, though. Not a 3.
Why is it most of the forum can’t grasp that there are options between he sucks DFA him and he’s a superstar lock him in the middle of the order?

Re: Oli says Burleson is everyday player
Yes, it would be nice if the lineup construction were such that Burleson would bat 6 or 7. That's a project for Bloom to accomplish.
Re: Oli says Burleson is everyday player
If Bloom doesn’t agree he will be Carlos Pena’d

Ok I have heard Gorman Nootbar Burleson Donovan Hererra and Walker are all everyday players. Show he a lineup where that works with Wetherholt Winn Contreras Scott and a Catcher? There are too many DH/2B/LF/RF on the roster. It’s only working now because Wetherholt is in AAA. Donovan and Arenado are hurt.

Re: Oli says Burleson is everyday player
The trouble with that is that Burleson HAS TO BE a MOTO bat. His bat is his only tool. He can't field, run, or draw walks.
The only way the lineup gets better is to find DH, 1B, LF, RF guys who hit better than our current incumbents.
Your C, CF, SS, 2B are supposed to be your #6, #7, #8, and #9 hitters. You are thrilled if they can hit higher than that; you should be a great team if they can.
If your DH, 1B, LF, RF, 3B can't be #1, #2, #3, #4, or #5 hitters, then you are not going to be a very good team.

Re: Oli says Burleson is everyday player
That lineup as a whole was an abomination. Not overly impressive when you look at it.
As it stands now he deserves playing time over most on the roster/in the minors. But he is a very “meh” player and if you can find an upgrade you definitely should jump on it. Or if you can load up the middle of the lineup with better players and still be able to find a spot in the field for him great. But there’s absolutely nothing to his game that screams find a spot at all costs.
