Had he been released? Is there any return?

He may hit a couple of home runs for them and the standard “how can they give up the great baker” threads will start up
Re: Luken Baker a Dodger
Apparently a waiver claim. Cards made room to pick up a LHP from Marlins on waiver and immediately assigned him to AAA (Anthony Veneziano)

Tony The Venetian now wears the birds on the gondole.
Re: Luken Baker a Dodger
In all seriousness, I can't see him getting called up with Freeman at 1b and some guy named Ohtani at DH. Dodgers probably made the move to provide organization depth.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑04 Aug 2025 17:43 pm He may hit a couple of home runs for them and the standard “how can they give up the great baker” threads will start up
Re: Luken Baker a Dodger
St. Louis had not previously announced that Baker was dropped from the 40-man roster but evidently tried to run him through waivers.
It’s a bit surprising that the Cards went that route. They had four open spots on the 40-man roster, so it’s not as if they were pressed for space.

They're doing him a favor. No place for him now at AAA with Jordan on the team. He got a chance for another team with a need to pick him up and get playing time.earp wrote: ↑04 Aug 2025 18:11 pm St. Louis had not previously announced that Baker was dropped from the 40-man roster but evidently tried to run him through waivers.

Not intending to be mean, but this came two-three years too late. He was going nowhere with the Cards, so they should have made him available earlier so he might have gotten playing time elsewhere.
Re: Luken Baker a Dodger
Ivan came back from injury when they were going against a good amount of lefties and Baker got sent down. Hope he tears it up.

F me it's pretty much guaranteed he's going to hit 2 home runs against us this series.
