OT: Slugfest at Coors

Post by Futuregm2 »

Pirates up 16-10 in the 6th inning.

Pirates have 17 hits, 9 walks, and a HBP

Joey Bart is 0 for 0 with 4 walks and a HBP in the game

They are trying to outdo the Brewers who had 25 hits and 16 runs vs Washington.

Washington was 1 run scored from 3 games today where both teams in the games had 10+ runs. Wonder what the record for that is.

Yankees in another one with Marlins -- and two of Yankees' new relievers - Bard and Bednar - have been bombed for 6 Rs in 2 IP.

That sounds really hard to do. But then I remember it’s Antonio Senzatela. I’m not sure how he’s still in their rotation. 4-14 6.68 ERA 1.84 FIP. 4.8 K/9 and 3.2 BB/9 with a 13.4 H/9. And well that was before today.

In other news, Tovar has tied the MLB record for doubles in a game. He’s 4 for 5 with 4 doubles. The last time it was done was by Duran in 2023. It’s been done 40 times in MLB history according to ChatGPT.

He will have a chance to break the MLB record.

They’ll have 2 more innings in the game and he’s 6 hitters away, so assuming they don’t pull him he could get another PA.
