55 - 55 at trade deadline

Post by OldRed »

It seems strange to think there are only 52 games remaining in this season for the Cardinals, but what is you guess for the remainder? Will they stay at .500 or fall below. Seriously, can this team win 26 games?

Got em right where we want em. 32-20 down the stretch; snagging that final Wild Card spot at 87-75.

78 wins. The next 15 will be especially rough.

Can the offense do anything
The starters need to be a little better most days
Wait and see if the pen holds together with the new rolls each has
Can O'Brain set up
Can anyone else pitch the 6 or 7th
Can JoJo close
Time wilk tell

My guess is 76 - 86. Hope I’m being too harsh. A lot will depend on who sits the most when Gorman and Nootbaar return.
Arenado needs to sit, a lot ! Pages needs to not catch nearly as much, put Herrera back there some. Walker and Scott are starting to figure things out and need to play about every day. Gorman has to play most days. The problem will be Oli won’t do any of that and the team will continue to struggle under his idiocy!

I'm now in the "under .500" finish too.

W/O a closer we could see multiple games lost in the ninth.

As long as it means Oli is canned, being under .500 at seasons end has it's benefit.

There was a point where I thought they might somehow win 83-85 games. Now I think they will probably lose that many. I agree with Rock, if it gets a new manager it is worth it. Then again, there have been three or four times I was sure they would have to change managers and it never happened. MO is gone at season's end. Will be interesting to see what Bloom does or if BDW makes it clear he wants Oli to continue.

The club was 56-54 last year after 110 games and finished with 83 wins. I'll be optimistic and say they end the season 82-80. That's where I had them pegged in the spring.

Supposed to use this season to see that kind of players the Cards have. As a fan, the eye test says they are attempting to reach mediocre. No doubt the FO believes they will get into playoffs next year.

83-79

They really didn’t lose a lot at the deadline. At some point Wetherholt will likely be called up and might be a spark. Overall probably similar to last year though.

Me too bcc, I think I had them at 86 -76 IF they added instead of subtracting but under .500 if they sold.

Let's hope BDWJr stays out of it and Bloom brings in HIS manager.

One things for sure, brining Oli back WILL NOT signal "CHANGE! :x

Not really. I'm not 100% clear on the rules, but aren't we locked out of the top 10 for next year?

Yes, highest we will be able to draft is like 12th or 13th. Rockies, Nationals, and Angels are also under the same restrictions and Rockies/Nats are far worse than us. Angels might finish better than us, but currently are not.
