is Arenado the 2nd worst contract in MLB?
after Anthony Rendon?
Re: is Arenado the 2nd worst contract in MLB?
Kris Bryant says hello.
Xander Bogaerts is pretty bad, too.
Trout still has 5 years at $37 million left on his deal.

For the context of the contract, it may be the worst. It's destroying our franchise.
Getting below average play for that money is not sustainable for our TV market. Philly, LA, SD can absorb some bad contracts.
And a no trade clause to boot, which he refuses to soften on.
The Cardinals and Arenado will continue to spiral down to baseball hell, chained at the hip until he's gone. A death sentence.

And his contract is not destroying the franchise. Misdirected hostility.

Apathy- no heart contract.

Yes. It is not just what he is getting paid this year of $21 million but he has a lot of hideous baggage. Like deferred compensation for decades and other financial garbage. Nobody wants to touch him

Remember, Mo flew out to see him expressly to beg him not to opt out. Just or not

Chris Davis!!!
Funny story.
One of our former regulars, none other than Sweeps, refused to engage with me after I reminded him of how Gung Ho he was to aquire Davis.
Would love to hear what he might have had to say over the last 2 seasons. Moe very well May have required Secret Service Protection.

Oh yeah. The Mets are still shelling out mega contracts. An Old Friend wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 15:06 pmBonilla's contract wasn't that bad. What caused the Mets to make that decision was bad.

Bonilla's wasn't a mega contract and it was different owners.mdkieffer wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 15:23 pmOh yeah. The Mets are still shelling out mega contracts. An Old Friend wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 15:06 pmBonilla's contract wasn't that bad. What caused the Mets to make that decision was bad.
Their math wasn't bad. They just didn't realize that they were caught up in a massive ponzi scheme.
