So you’re saying the Phillies preferred Helsley but the Twins GM somehow sweet talked them into trading for their guy instead? If the Twins GM is such a master negotiator, why is his team underperforming so dramatically that he has to sell?

Something isn’t right with your logic.

Wait for what? That lazy (donkey) putz to give yet another excuse for not making a significant move?

Duran is a good closer and is locked up for like 3 more years with arbitration. Helsley is a rental, who do you think will get more?

Was that it?

Dhuran is having a much better year, and he's controlled for two more years after 2025.
Why would the Phillies have preferred Helsley?

Waiting until he’s a FA to move him. A .500 team needs an elite $20m closer. Mo clearly overplayed his hand again

His best trade partner? Let's wait and see. We've been reading about 4-5:teams who are engaged in talks for Hels. He obviously, fir reasons unknown, couldn't come to terms with Philly, but I hope he gets something done soon. Let's see what a 2 month rental gets you now a days.

Apparently its Mo's fault that Philly wanted a pitcher under contract control.

Defending against the stupid complaints is so tedious. As if there aren't enough real things about which to complain, but the [shirt] like this is so tiresome.

Phillies got the closer they wanted and it wasn’t Helsley

They paid a steep price
