Brewers picked up a .181 hitting Andrew Vaughn from White Sox in exchange for starting P Civale who was demoted from the Brewer staff.
Vaughn was playing in AAA Charlotte when they traded for him. then brought up on July 7th .
In a span of 15 games , Vaughn has hit 5 HR's and now has 21 RBI . Since that July 7th date, only Kyle Schwarber has more RBI in the MLB.
While it may not go down as a 'trade deadline' deal since it happened 2 1/2 weeks ago, it is a WOW deal !
Just a few minutes ago, he hit a grand slam in Milwaukee to extend Brewers lead to 9-2 over the Cubs.
Talk about a trade ! Yikes ..This has to be the best lately.

Yes, it’s turned out well for them. Good for them.ramfandan wrote: ↑29 Jul 2025 21:01 pm Brewers picked up a .181 hitting Andrew Vaughn from White Sox in exchange for starting P Civale who was demoted from the Brewer staff.

Brewers have flipped front office devil magic with the Cardinals
Let's hope C. Bloom and his gang flip it back!

Mo sold his soul and now him and the Cardinals are paying the price.rockondlouie wrote: ↑30 Jul 2025 08:45 amIt's like Freaky FridayRichieRichSTL wrote: ↑29 Jul 2025 23:09 pmPepperidge Farms remembers when the Cardinals had success this wayramfandan wrote: ↑29 Jul 2025 21:01 pm Brewers picked up a .181 hitting Andrew Vaughn from White Sox in exchange for starting P Civale who was demoted from the Brewer staff.

But as we've seen most deals with Ole Scratch are less than meets the eye. Mo ask for a pitcher he can win with for example.
Mo gets the Jordan Montgomery who excels after the trade deadline and leads them to the playoffs, but they fall short in the playoffs anyway. To ole scratch that's 'winning' To Cardinal fans thats an early playoff exit or not really winning. Eventually the devil magic wears off the player too and the player within a year or so fails too.
The problem is Mo no longer has any of his soul left, so Ole Scratch moved onto Milwaukee's POBO. Eventually he will be played out too like Mo is.

Winning seems to create complacent fans.
1. Nothing lasts forever.
2. Winning isn’t guaranteed nor should it be taken for granted. It is earned.
The game has changed so significantly and the cardinals have not kept up. The fans have not fully come to the understanding that the good old days are gone.
Change or die.
When the cards finally do win again I can see fans savoring the experience so much more and not expecting it to happen every year.

Man we're going to miss ragging on old Mo.
