At Memphis, Taylor and newly acquired Wilkerson have both had decent to good, solid AAA seasons as starting pitchers. Cards should dump/DFA Mikolas after his poor showing tonite (or so I predict) and give his next start(s?) to Taylor.
And if Pallante stinks it up next time out, if not sooner, they should give Pallante's next start to Wilkerson. See what happens.
What's to lose, other than another game? One of those older guys might just have figured out something. Why not take a small chance instead of continuing to wallow in the deep end of conservative decision-making this team has been drowning for years?

it's a good option...Henderson and one of Mautz/Hansen can fill in the missing innings in Memphis. And Bedell is an option as he's been rehabbing with the FCL, but their season just ended.

We would only need Wilkerson and Taylor as filler for 2 months. If one of them happens to shine a little, then maybe explore a 5th in the rotation starter spot for 1 year in 2026...cut them if they bomb like Fedde.
