Jordan Walker
SSS - but don't look, here's his stats since he came off the IL:
7 games
9 for 27, with 4 doubles (6 game hit streak, 3 were multi-hit games)
.333/.379/.481
No homers yet, but the doubles are encouraging. Keep it up JW! Him turning the corner makes 2026 look so much brighter. Still only 23.

Been noticing too
I like what they did w/him during his latest re-hab at Memphis (Bloom's development system at work!).
He's more upright w/a more open stance.

Re: Jordan Walker
Getting hits in bunches is a good sign too. It never seemed like he went on long 0er draughts before, but he'd collect 1 single every other game for the longest time - or 2 singles every 3 games. Hard to maintain a slash line without those bigger 2 for 4, 3 for 5 type games.rockondlouie wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025 10:46 am Been noticing too

I wish they'd never messed with him last season, and just let him smoke grounders for a .280 average. Power will develop in time. He's still so young. The bat speed and hard hit % were there. Forcing the launch angle screwed him up IMO.
Re: Jordan Walker
Let’s see how long it lasts, he looked better in ST/early season, too, but slowly went back to old ways.rockondlouie wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025 10:46 am Been noticing too

I haven’t read about this. What did they do specifically that rock is referring to?Futuregm2 wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025 11:02 amLet’s see how long it lasts, he looked better in ST/early season, too, but slowly went back to old ways.rockondlouie wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025 10:46 am Been noticing too

Yep. This is his time to show he really does belong in MLB. If not, trade him away in the offseason.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025 11:02 amLet’s see how long it lasts, he looked better in ST/early season, too, but slowly went back to old ways.rockondlouie wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025 10:46 am Been noticing too

Re: Jordan Walker
He's taking much better ABs... I would have preferred him to be more aggressive in that 1st/3rd spot 1-out spot last night, but he's at least not chasing junk all over the place.

He's a smart kid, hopefully he now has the right instruction that gets him right and he sticks to it.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025 11:02 amLet’s see how long it lasts, he looked better in ST/early season, too, but slowly went back to old ways.rockondlouie wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025 10:46 am Been noticing too

Getting close to sink or swim time for him (and Gorman) since Bloom has no attachment to them like Mo did.

Re: Jordan Walker
His contact has noticeably more loft to it. His last 5 games in AAA he had 4 Xbh. He's finally at least building a foundation that looks like he could build some future success off of. He looked completely lost before his IL stint.

Re: Jordan Walker
Actually, he was hitting over .300 in last 20 games before the wrist injury and led the Cards in RBI during that time, although I agree he still had far too many awful ABs.billybaseball wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025 11:30 am His contact has noticeably more loft to it. I'm no hitting expert but the new stance looks better. Hands lower= less downward motion.
Beyond a successful trade deadline, JWalk and Gorman proving their MLB regulars (or better) is about all you can hope for this season. Unless Sonny, Libby, and McG suddenly become aces for the next 2 months, even the WC is a pipe dream.
Re: Jordan Walker
New regime. Let's see what Walker does with some actual competent coaching.
Re: Jordan Walker
Fools gold.
This happens from time to time with him.
He has a good week and people start talking about his new stance and new approach.

Re: Jordan Walker
Hitting .296 over his last 28 games with a .762 OPS. He’s been better.
