Seems he hasn't pitched well since the 1 hit, complete game shut out(low pitch count and all).

if only pitchers could limit their pitches to say 50 a game and no more than 100 innings..funny how that was never a problem years ago

I think this is it. Earlier this year they rearranged the rotation so he did not have to pitch a day game in the heat in St. Louis.

I can't believe Shildt left Darvish out there to give up 8 runs. Forfeiting the game away in less than four innings.

In the post game interview he indicated he was “working on some stuff” ….you know like in ST or on a side session or perhaps in the offseason…..

He doesn't pitch well in the heat, he has even talked about this before. I guess with his smaller frame maybe it wears him out more than most

It doesn't seem like he's throwing as many breaking pitches and the ones he does throw seem to be hangers. I'm with you in wondering if maybe he's hurt. He's still throwing 90's though. Maybe he's just not able to follow through on his breaking pitches. One thing is for sure, he's not fooling many hitters right now.

This is the kind of stuff that a real POBO would scrutinize BEFORE signing a 34yr old 5’10 180lb fella who doesn’t pitch all that many innings anymore
