That's got some mistakes. Tucker plays over Kessel. I'm not sure how the bottom two forward lines shake out but I'd have Walker in over Joseph.

Indeed, I thought the same thing.

Not, AI, just a different opinion of how things are going to look. I certainly don’t agree with much of what he has to say.

I love Torpochenko on the third line. The kid has a lot of skill that needs room to be unleashed.

Toropchenko is great on 4th line. He is not coordinated enough for 3rd line. He is a big ball of energy lacks some coordination to be scorer.

He can chew gum with the best of them. He can walk with the best of them.
But not at the same time. 4 goals in 80 games.
Hes a decent big body banger on 4th line.

I like Suter on Line 2. I hope that he will be a great surprise.

Here’s my guess as the roster/23-man lineup:

Buchy-Thomas-Snuggy
Holloway-Suter/Schenn-Kyrou
Neighbours-Schenn/Suter-Bjugstad/Sunny
Walker-Sunny/Bjugstad-Toropchenko
Joseph, Texier

Fowler-Parayko
Broberg-Faulk
Tucker-Mailloux
Kessel

Binnington
Hofer

Then after 30 minutes, Monty will flip lines and then do it again and again throughout the season.

To an extent, yes.
But I will say that Monty put a lot more emphasis on line continuity than any of our recent coaches have. Short of injuries, I think the lines stay relatively consistent once Monty finds the units that click.

I’m really hoping for something like this:

Buch-Thomas-Snuggy
Hollywood-Schenn-Kyrou
Neigbours-Suter-Tex/Dvo
Walker-Bjug-Toro

That would leave Sunny and Joseph as fill ins, which isn’t too shabby at all.

That’s true. I noticed that too and appreciate he gives the lines a chance to find some chemistry before giving up on them. I’m sure the players appreciate that too.

But was more making a joke about how fans spend all summer arguing over slightly different line combos and then we usually see 10 different combos the first month or two of the season.

Regardless of how the lines precisely shake out, I like the depth we have. I look at the rosters around the league and most teams don’t have the forward depth we have. We maybe don’t have the same level of elite top-end talent as some teams but we’re deeper than most. Really helps to be able to roll 4 lines and trust them and not have 1-2 garage lines that you either can’t play or you really limit their icetime to mitigate how much their caved in.

Here's what I would go with for lines:

Buch-Thomas-Snuggerud
Holloway-Suter-Kyrou
Neighbours-Schenn-Dvorsky
Torp-Bjugstad-Joseph/Walker
Walker/Joseph-Sunny

Plenty of rotation there possible on the bottom for players to stay fresh, hungry for playing time. Play consistently well, then stay in the lineup.

I'm hopefully Suter helps that 2nd line get even better because Schenn is slowing down. 3rd line concerns because Schenn is slowing down and we're moving him away from faster wings that helped him.

If the team wanted to make the best 1st line possible it would be Holloway-Thomas-Kyrou.

Biggest concern, a lot riding on Snuggerud being ready for a full season of top 6 minutes.
