if there is good demand for any and all of these guys the cards should strike and follow the tigers strategy last season of trading assets and actually improving...other than perhaps gray none of these guys figure in future plans and perhaps a contender will overpay for gray...

How is Arenado not on the list? He has to go.

Mo sat around all winter with his thumb (and head) up his (donkey) doing nothing. Fedde should've been dealt during the off-season. Now his trade value is zero. Good front office executives trade while value is still there. Mo does nothing and hopes it works out.

This would be great. And then they could go 5-50 the rest of the way. Nice

An astute wheeler and dealer will make some trades for the future and still stay competitive for the remainder of this season.

You think Fedde, Mikolas, Matz, and Helsley are holding this team afloat? 8O 8O 8O

I would remove Gray from consideration since he’s got a NTC and doesn’t want to leave, which I’m fine with.

really?...you think these guys are so important that the team will collapse...I personally think we would have addition by subtraction in some of these guys...I forget to include NA who also should be dealt if anybody wants a good fielding third baseman with a 693 OPS who makes 30 million dollars

And what if they did? They are not going anywhere this year anyway.

It’s about the future….

excellent.

How is Brendan Donovan's fastball? Can Winn close out games?

Hell, trade 18 off the 23 man roster then we'll really see what Oli can do.

my guess is the cards have several guys who could close as well as helsley has this season....wouldnt be too tough to replace fedde,Mikolas and Matz...trading arenado may well improve the team...the only guy they might miss is gray and I trade him if somebody overwhelms us with an offer

and nootbar and arenado and gray and contreras if they say ok. This team is 2 years away. Maybe even consider dealing donovan- though that price would be steep. I bet you could get quite a haul if you dealt gray/contreras/noot/helsley/matz/maton. Several top 10 prospects off of multiple teams. Lineup without those guys in a year or two:
Weatherholt 2B
Winn SS
Donovan LF
Herrera DH
Burleson 1B
Gorman 3B
Walker RF
Crooks/Pages/Bernal C
Scott II CF

Rotation
Libertore
Doyle
McGreevy
Matthews
Pallante
RP
Hence
Roby
Granillo

This is not a bad young base to build around...You add in a bunch of young talent and start dealing when we are ready in a year or two for the high level players and sign a couple of studs...no more pussyfootin around with 10 to 15 million wastes of money...just get some studs to compliment this group Like 2 or 3- one ace pitcher and a couple of big bats to supplant Walker and someone else.
