Mo really SUCKS. The trio of TO, Bader, and Carlson roaming the green OF of Busch for years to come……breaking young to middle aged ladies hearts as they pranced from dugout to field…..

Mo sucks for trying them or he sucks for realizing the futility and moving on?

FWIW, each of them had at least one season for us that was better than their 2025 STL OF counterpart.

Bader provided good value while with the Cards, then brought us Montgomery, who then brought us Roby, Saggese and King. Not bad.
TO also brought decent value while with the Cards, and they didn't make the mistake of extending him. Not terrible, but yes, they should have traded him earlier.
Wish Carlson had been traded earlier when he had decent value, but all 3 showed some potential while they were cost controlled, and the Cards never extended them. Kind of a silly thing to complain about.
Signing Fowler was the big mistake. Maybe w/o that signing, Arozarena gets more opportunity to show what he could do while with the Cards.

How many years were wasted on subpar talent?? This “give them a chance philosophy” should be utilized in minors only, not the Big Club
Out of all 3 I thought Carlson had the most natural baseball ability……..I think he’s lazy tho and didn’t put in the required work
In any case it didn’t take 5 yrs in Stl to figure out they weren’t the future.

Tyler was closest to being a good player. Carlson a huge waste of talent. Bader was just plain awful as a hitter. ( 2013) since we have had a good hitting outfield. That's too long to keep banking on young prospects.

Tyler has been better than Wily Mo Pena, but he's essentially the same kind of player.

2021 did happen. Cards had a productive OF that year, just saying.

I was wondering why there weren’t any of the daily TO is so awesome and cards were stupid for letting him go threads. There a bunch of them when he had his “massive” break out season when he drove in 61 runs lol I should have known he was sucking and that’s why the we love and miss the great TO threads stopped

Don't confuse them with facts!

The Cards OF in 2021 had the highest OF bWAR in baseball with 14.2 WAR vs Houston's 12.5. Most of the ABs were "the trio that went south."

Fangraphs fWAR had that OF #4, but almost all the positive WAR was from that trio. https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders/major ... s=0&P[ositively] O[bnoxious] S[impleton]=of

Like others since, the longer they stay with the club the worse they perform. Odd.

Which yet again displays the idiocy of WAR.

You don't need WAR to say TO had a good year in 2021 with 34 dingers and GG defense. He was really good that year, but he could only do it once.

"You don't need WAR"
Absolutely correct.
It is a fiction.

Out of 5-6 yrs……each one had ONE good season…..that is not a competent sustainable MLB OF
And since they left they’ve mostly been worse…..so in conclusion MO or whoever advises or advised MO in the Cards org are TERRIBLE talent assessors
And we’re probably seeing the same thing with half the YUTES we’re being forced to watch THIS YEAR to see if they’re ML players. Is this how a successful ML org is supposed to work? Calling up unknowns who probably aren’t worth the time and watch them for years to finally recognize they’re no good…
