Deadline Decision Maker
I apologize in advance if I missed this but has anyone in the local media reported if the Cardinals become "sellers' at the deadline who in the organization would be making the final say on the moves and who they get in return?

Sounds like MO. I think he has final say. Unfortunately.

If true, it is ridiculously stupid on DeWitt's part.

Re: Deadline Decision Maker
in an interview / questions to a local tv station right after and in that room of that big 4 person press conference about the off season and hand off, Mo said that all his decisions would go through Bloom and Owners.

MO Speak. Not sure what he means.Clubmaker2 wrote: ↑13 Jul 2025 20:44 pm in an interview / questions to a local tv station right after and in that room of that big 4 person press conference about the off season and hand off, Mo said that all his decisions would go through Bloom and Owners.
Re: Deadline Decision Maker
Any deals having any real impact beyond 2025 will go through Bloom and DeWitt. Mo may handle the actual work, but the who’s and wherefore’s are Bloom and DeWitt. I can hardly see Bloom standing for otherwise. DeWitt has already stated he would break any ties, but why would Bloom stay if DeWitt sides with Mo?
Re: Deadline Decision Maker
Of course any decision would have Bloom involved . Bloom is not going to mind if any of the current vet pitchers are moved in trade talks.Clubmaker2 wrote: ↑13 Jul 2025 20:44 pm in an interview / questions to a local tv station right after and in that room of that big 4 person press conference about the off season and hand off, Mo said that all his decisions would go through Bloom and Owners.
If a Gorman, Walker, etc were in discussions , Bloom would let Mo know if they were IN or OUT for his long term plans. If OUT , then they could be traded too.
Any prospects in the minors though would NOT be traded if Bloom DEFINITELY wants to retain them for 2026 and beyond.

Bloom should have final say since acquired players will be on HIS roster in 2026.
Mo should be sent home at the ASB, at the very least told he's not in charge of the roster anymore.
But BDWJr doesn't have the balls to do it, he could regret it if Mo makes more dumb moves.
Re: Deadline Decision Maker
Collaborative decision ..Mo, Bloom, etc.
While Mo technically had ‘final’ say on paper, he will NOT finalize any deal that Bloom would be opposed to.
After all, Bloom takes over in couple months.

Re: Deadline Decision Maker
The dumbest deadline move Mo could make is no move. Standing pat or trading for a "low-hanging fruit " reliever would be a bad decision.rockondlouie wrote: ↑14 Jul 2025 08:51 am+1JuanAgosto wrote: ↑13 Jul 2025 20:30 pmIf true, it is ridiculously stupid on DeWitt's part.
