Canadiens DOPD Rob Ramage Interview
I haven't even listened to this myself. My guess is the topic of Logan Mailloux will be front and center.

Re: Canadiens DOPD Rob Ramage Interview
It was a good interview Ramage spoke highly of the kid as a man and a player. Suggests his d play has come along and as with Ramage himself it can take time but the kid is a player. Also recall Mellanby was in Montreal at the time too so he as well had input for the Blues on Mailloux
Re: Canadiens DOPD Rob Ramage Interview
Mailloux needs to be a break out player. The player he has yet to be.
He had a tough start, his own self made troubles coupled with COVID and then double coupled with the town full of scrutiny where he was to begin his journey. They gave him 7 games, that's it. W-T-F.
I get the attributes, no doubt there. He was asked about the "new leaf" thing and jumped on it and that is exactly what needs to happen here.
I'm pulling for him and I see a chance he can find himself here better than anywhere, like so many before him.
I want to see this kid win the trade for the Blues and he may just do it.

I’d be happy with a Mikkola defensively

He needs to play NHL games. Some mistakes will be glaring but we can deal with that. Some of the most important comments that we hear is that he will compete. He likes to get involved. Those type of players pull other players into the battle. With so many young guys coming up, we are going to need that type of identity to develop in players early. Snuggerud and eventually Dvorsky and the rest are going to need a Dman with that type of mentality to lead the way with his intensity.

Re: Canadiens DOPD Rob Ramage Interview
Ramage said his O game is already there. D game improves every year. Right staff to continue his development.
He has a high compete level that the Hunters recognized him for.
Played the AHL finals with banged up ribs which shows his character.
AHL coach said early in the playoffs that it was the best hockey he seen him play.
Also said he basically missed two years of development.

It is clear from most of your posts you are not one to listen. There is no doubt you didn't hear anything new. No doubt at all.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑07 Jul 2025 17:51 pm I didn't hear anything to write home about. Bummer IMO

Great interview. It is good to hear the reinforcement that he is as ready as the Blues scouting team is presenting him as.
I like these comments from playoffs when the Montreal fans were really excited to see him on their blueline this year. It really tells you what they were assessing Mailloux as before the trade.

You must really give off a putrid smell. I can only imagine what you must look like too. Ask them to clean your cage more often...and then shut up.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑07 Jul 2025 17:51 pm I didn't hear anything to write home about. Bummer IMO

Re: Canadiens DOPD Rob Ramage Interview
Of course. Who wouldn't? And I would not trade Bolduc to get Mikkola. But we need an RHD, and the offensive ability could eventually help on the power play as well.
As a reminder, in Pietrangelo's first couple of years, there was some frustration and angst about his defensive play as well. He sat and was sent down. It's a typical part of the process. Petrangelo became a good defenseman, but he never really provided universal satisfaction, nor a wow factor in his play. I'm not saying he was bad. He was effective. But not Statue worthy.
