Mikolas has an NTC, so it's completely up to him.

Fedde absolutely should be traded, problem is his trade value has plummeted in the last 4-5 weeks, the last 3 starts especially.

Neither figures to get much attention on the trade market.
Pending FA’s.
Fedde is younger and makes far less $$ after the deadline so could be more likely to find a gambler.
Mikolas makes far more and has a NTC.
I’d tell him he’s going to the BP.
If he balks tell him they’ll make every effort to move him.
If he wants to pitch next season he can’t afford to make too much of a ruckus.

“We should keep them…..and showcase them……for the trade deadline”. Said some of the most ignorant baseball people running a team in modern history. And a few “smarties” on CT here

really Nobody makes trades in April/May so 4 months of track record was always going to be in Fedde's stat line before we could monetize his return.

Sure, but him being so bad in multiple starts in a row, up to and going into July, definitely changes if teams will even be willing to trade for him and what they're willing to give for him than if, instead, he'd just been the 3.72 ERA pitcher he was after the trade last season.

Trade value has plummeted, it can't have not.

You're right - he's regressed, which is unfortunate. because he should have had some value had he maintained. But then again maybe we would still want to keep him.

Meanwhile, if there was no market for him last offseason, it wouldn't have made sense to trade him for a B level prospect with an expected future WAR near 0, just to do something. So we really can't know what might have been. Just that we'd be a lot better off either way if he were pitching well right now.

BDW owes Fedde 4M and Mikolas 10M'

There is your answer why the Lizard King will see the rubber again.

BDW doesn't eat contract easy.

Both Mikolas and Fedde should be DFA'd over the AS break. Nobody wants them in a trade.

The same presser should announce the DFA of Mo. Mikolas' extension and refusal to trade Fedde in the off season are just the latest in bad decisions.

The shaming given by the Pirates and Cubs should make enough enough.

Bloom owns the trade deadline and FO decisions moving on. The team is in sell mode.

Fedde might be DFA’d because he’s only owed $4M. Doubt BDW would agree to DFA for Mikolas, who is owed $10M. Can’t see BDW eating $14M.

What’s the rationale in keeping players who have no value to team? The money is gone either way

But he’ll gladly continue to lose with it……what return does BDW think he’s getting by doing this???
Does BDW pay players to lose games? Because that’s exactly what he’s doing

BDW was told by his POBO, GM, and Manager that MM is a winning player and he should invest in him. He did and now he's leaving it to them to fix whatever is wrong with him so he can get whatever value he can, because like others noted, BDW does not eat contracts.

Only about a third of their salaries will be on the books after the TD.
Fedde becomes petty change.
Their value, if any, is in providing a team what they do not readily have and
don't want to start a prospects clock.

I'd do same with Miles, trade, BP, or DFA

Fedde may be moved to the bullpen to "work on things". Mikolas probably gets a longer leash before a trip to the IL occurs.

or vice versa.

Who do you see better out of the BP?

MM can have a good couple innings before trouble begins and
Fedde may have less of a relationship between him and the team.
