Fedde and Mikolas

Post by nebfan »

If this team wants any chance to make the playoffs they have to replace Fedde and Mikolas with McGreevy and Matz. Trade DFA or send the other two jokers to the pen for mopup duty

McGreevy's a given. Needed to be up after the Mikolas fiasco. Who comes up after that? Couldn't tell you. If I knew Mathews could take some lumps up at the MLB level without torpedoing his confidence, I'd say that. I'll watch a young guy screw up and learn over watching two has been/never were meatball artists.

Going to be fun when the deadline rolls around and we get less for Fedde than we gave up to get him last year. The type of asset management that could only be pulled off by the smartest man in the room.

There's bound to be some pitchers available to trade for that wouldn't be any worse, make some moves, like Armstrong does!

Mo's timing has just been horrid. Over the last several years, he has sold low almost every time. Alcantara, Gallen, Arozarena, O'Neill, Carlson, Garcia, Edman, Mikolas (extension was unnecessary), Arenado, Fedde, Helsley (they are coming). The list goes on. It doesn't have to be this way. A sharp POBO will sell high at least as often as they sell low. The best ones sell high most of the time. As a mid-market team, the Cards need to sell high most of the time. We cannot afford to continuously sell low and expect to compete with the big spenders.
