Fly that “L” flag!
Re: Cubs are just toying with their little brother
I believe the Cubs are a better team right now but the gap is not that great.
Cards need to stay healthy and get a good read on some players for the balance of the season.

I took a nap through most of today's game but watched the 9th and caught some of the post on the radio. They alluded to something about Wrigley using different baseballs this season.
Is there any validity to that comment? I ask because almost every hitter in the Cubs starting lineup is having a career year. And we're not talking 10% above average. Many of them are on pace to demolish their previous best seasons.
Suzuki, Crybaby-Armstrong, and Busch have each either surpassed the production numbers they put up last year or almost matched them.
In half a season ... Not sure I've ever seen that.

Cards are nursing injuries to Herrera, Nado, and Walker . All 3 contributed quite a bit when the Cardinals were playing well.
Re: Cubs are just toying with their little brother
Seems that the cocky "big brother" got slapped around by "little bro" today! They should have got serious instead of "toying" around.

Don't forget about Carson Kelly. He is putting up numbers at age 30 at a pace far better than his best season of 2019. His current slash line of .268/.370/.489/.858 way exceeds his career highs.blackinkbiz wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025 19:59 pmI took a nap through most of today's game but watched the 9th and caught some of the post on the radio. I doubt if they are using different baseballs at Wrigley, and in fact the cubs have hit better on the road than at home so far this season.

Total (bleep). Suzuki and Crow-Armstrong's home/away splits are almost 50/50. Busch has twice as many home runs away as he does at home.blackinkbiz wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025 19:59 pmI took a nap through most of today's game but watched the 9th and caught some of the post on the radio. I understand Cubbie hubris, they're only 99 years away from their next WS win...
