Pirates are though, actually they are at 31 now headed to Seattle.
Actually I think those are the right ones though. I just put it in chat gpt and it said those two and it specifies offense. Most recent drought was the 2017 KC Royals went scoreless for 45 innings from August 23-29 and the Cincinnati Reds had a 35 inning scoreless drought in April of this year. So if we went 7 innings without scoring runs tomorrow we’d tie the longest one this year.rockondlouie wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 14:30 pmUghFuturegm2 wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 14:09 pmCardinals aren’t at 28 pitched and counting headed to Wrigley.rockondlouie wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 14:05 pm The MLB record for consecutive scoreless innings pitched by a team is 48 innings. And with 3 starters injured , 2 of the 3 in middle of the order.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 13:57 pm Not just three in a row but shut out in 5 of the last 8 games.
It wasn’t quite tied, but it was dang close. And it was 2022.blackinkbiz wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 14:45 pm It was in either 21 or 22 the Cards had either tied or broken the record for most consecutive scoreless innings batted but for whatever reason, they counted the 1-0 win they earned in extras as not counting toward the record even though it was a flippin ghost runner that scored.
THat was brutal. This is nearly as bad especially when you consider getting shut out in the last 2 against the Cubs.
Something interesting. Currently the Cardinals have the lowest injured payroll in MLB at $2.3 million. If Contreras goes on the DL his $18 million would put the Cardinals at 20th in the league at $20.3 and the most injured payroll in the NL Central.ramfandan wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 14:48 pmAnd with 3 starters injured , 2 of the 3 in middle of the order.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 13:57 pm Not just three in a row but shut out in 5 of the last 8 games.
I’ve been following the Cardinals since the early 1950s, and this is the first time I can ever remember them being shut out for an entire 3 game series.
