They scored 6 runs over 3 games against the Pirates on June 28-30, getting swept in a 3 game set. Had run totals of 1, 0, and 5. Cardinals at the time fell to 46-32. PIrates climbed to 32-43. Cardinals would finish with 105 wins and the Pirates would finish with 72 wins.

Actually I think those are the right ones though. I just put it in chat gpt and it said those two and it specifies offense. Most recent drought was the 2017 KC Royals went scoreless for 45 innings from August 23-29 and the Cincinnati Reds had a 35 inning scoreless drought in April of this year. So if we went 7 innings without scoring runs tomorrow we’d tie the longest one this year.

And what is amazing about the Reds one this year is they lost all 3 games they got shutout by a 1-0 score this year.

It was in either 21 or 22 the Cards had either tied or broken the record for most consecutive scoreless innings batted but for whatever reason, they counted the 1-0 win they earned in extras as not counting toward the record even though it was a flippin ghost runner that scored.

September 18-21: Shutout in 3 games
September 22: Scored a run in the 5th inning of this game.

Something interesting. Currently the Cardinals have the lowest injured payroll in MLB at $2.3 million. If Contreras goes on the DL his $18 million would put the Cardinals at 20th in the league at $20.3 and the most injured payroll in the NL Central.

It wasn’t three shutouts but getting swept by the Nats in 2019 was ugly with 0, 1, 1 and 4 (after being down 7-0)
