Bolduc
Bummer to see him go but he was looking like the odd man out when Kyrou wasn't dealt. Good trade for both teams imo.

Re: Bolduc
I’m sorry to see him go. He’s a gamer. It does open up a Top 9 spot if they want Dvorsky up starting at wing.
Re: Bolduc
I agree. Traded from a position of strength to fill a position of need. Teams aren't in the habit of just giving players away, so something of value usually has to go the other way (yes, there are some exceptions). I like Zac a lot and I'm bummed to see him go, but we really needed a RHD, so I'm good with the trade.billybaseball wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 10:58 am Bummer to see him go but he was looking like the odd man out when Kyrou wasn't dealt. Re: Bolduc
Sad to see Bolduc go. He is going to be a great player with that tough edge to his game. Great pickup for Montreal.
Re: Bolduc
I like Bolduc and it seemed he was starting to come into his own in terms of physical play. Don't know much about the D-man we go back.

Yeah, hate to see Bolduc go, but they must think some of these young kids are ready.

Re: Bolduc
I'm really bummed about this. Bolduc played the game the way you need to play to win a Cup.
Re: Bolduc
It sucks --I love his regular season. Was a tad concerned about his playoffs. 1 pt--lots of penalties. Im sure he will be better in time.
Hurts to give up on Bolduc. He may have a bright future.

Re: Bolduc
I don't like this trade, but they may be super high on Carbonneau, and think if he goes to BC and does well he may turn pro the next year. I like that Bolduc played with a physical edge, and think the Blues need more of that not less. We'll see how Mailloux looks in camp. I would have rather seen them get Reinbacher or Nemec, but Bolduc may not have had enough value to get either of them.
Re: Bolduc
Yeah, I liked him, too. Can't fall too deeply in love with these guys, there is a surplus of young wingers right now. He's one ex-Blue I'll keep an eye on. Going "home" to Quebec, to a team on the rise. He has to be excited about that.

Re: Bolduc
If I had to guess… the Blues were probably willing to offer Kyrou for a package around Reinbacher, but the Habs wouldn’t part with him. So this deal is the result.Quas wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 11:22 am I don't like this trade, but they may be super high on Carbonneau, and think if he goes to BC and does well he may turn pro the next year. Re: Bolduc
We didn't just lose Bolduc in this transaction. The move signals the eventual fail and ouster of Adam Jiricek. Jiricek was drafted to fill the elite RHD spot, and he is failing. The Blues making this move tells us that Jiricek is not trending positive.
Moral of the story:
Drafting an elite RHD inside the TOP5 can be accomplished. See Pietrangelo.
Drafting an elite RHD outside the TOP5 is almost impossible. See Jiricek.
Trading for an elite RHD requires that a high price be paid. See Bolduc.
When you refuse to draft TOP5, good luck with ever staffing your team with an elite RHD.

Army has one hell of history of providing key players to Stanley Cup champions. I call it the Army kiss.
(Pietrangelo, Barbashev, Mikola, etc, etc)
Next kiss GOES TO MONTREAL!
If Bolduc plays on the 2nd line with Demidov, Bolduc is going to light it up.
