Round 5: Blues take RW Mikhail Fyodorov
Per Gibby on another thread. He was first to the forum with the news but it's buried.

5'11" 150ish.. LH winger..stats don't exactly pop either, but he did get a cup of coffee in the KHLhockey jedi wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025 14:39 pm Per Gibby on another thread. He was first to the forum with the news but it's buried.
think I would have reached for a goaler or a dman with size

Don’t get this pick at all. Can’t convince me this was BPA. And doesn’t appear to address a need. Love to know the thought process here.

The amateur scouting staff of the Blues left the conference room to play golf. They left Maverick Ott in charge.

Are we really going to complain about a 5th rounder? This is another late round shot in the dark like Korotky, Susuyev, etc.
Never heard of him but he led his team in pts and earned a 3 game callup to the KHL at age 18. That’s not bad for a 5th rd pick.

It's a 5th.
We'd have the same chance hitting a winner on a scratch off. It's ok.

right, you don't address needs in the nhl at the draft...you get bpa and 5th round- you just go upside and hope.bluetunehead wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025 15:05 pm5th round picks are all huge long shots. Why would we be worried about addressing a need?

I feel like skinny might be the lowest risk flaw in the 5th round, I like 5'11" 150lbs a lot better than 6'3" 220 lbs and still available in the 5th round.
Doesn't even seem safe for a kid that is 5'11" and 150lbs to be playing in the KHL.

His birth place sounds like a robot factory.
Our Blues may have as many as 3 fifth rounders next year!

I think only 2 5th next year. Assuming the conditions on the one from the Islanders was what was rumored (Perunovich had to play 20 games for them this season) then that condition wasn’t met and thus we don’t get the pick. I’ve yet to see the condition released officially though.MrPostman01 wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025 18:03 pm His birth place sounds like a robot factory.
