Reportedly for Emil Heineman, 16th and 17th overall picks but the return is unconfirmed at this point.

The 16th and 17th are solid but Heineman makes no sense.

Fourth team already for Heineman. Went from Florida to Calgary in the Bennett trade, then to Montreal for Toffoli, and now to the Isles.

Islanders want Hagens bad..can’t wait to see what they have in store. Bill Army gonna get both those picks and a player for the #4 then he’s gonna draft two Russians with those picks! BOOK IT!

For those more familiar with his game... Is he worth $9.5M? And could the Blues have afforded him at that price?

Also, is his contract one that will set the ballpark market for Broberg?

Guhle-Dobson
Hutson-Reinbacher

That will be a great (younger) top 4 once Reinbacher is ready.

The Habs are getting there.
They have to find a legit 2C though.

Broberg will not be getting 9.5M unless he has a monster breakout year. Dobson scored 70 points a season ago. I'm not sure he's worth that much, but there are't too many defenseman who have shown they can score like that. His defensive rep is mixed though.

People are too hung up on the $9.5 mil..that’s just the going rate for dmen like him right now. He’d be worth it for many teams.

With the cap going up, $9.5M is the new $7-7.5M. I’d have a hard time stomaching paying him that much but that’s the reality of the situation.

To me, he’s not really worth that as he’s more of an offensive d-man than an all situations #1 but he’s better than Sergachev and Nurse IMO.

As long as the cap continues to go up I bet it’ll age fine.

He’s going to be playing 25 minutes in all situations. Thats as or more important than points in these negotiations

Great deal for the Habs, especially not giving up Reinbacher.

I'd say that's a pretty good deal for both sides. Happy for the Habs.
