From now till All Star break.

Post by sikeston bulldog2 »

Good morning.

Five series, three on the road, two at home. 15 games. Will put us at 97 for the year.

Cleveland Pittsburgh Cubs Nats Braves. Need to go 8-7 as the Cubs have a tougher schedule.

We should draw Skenes first Rats game. Good news, he’s a righty. Ha!

Brewers 3 behind Cards 4.5 behind. I look for it to be within 2 games by the break.

Will see one lefty in the Cleveland series. The final gane Sunday at noon. All three Cleveland starters are .500 or below. All Eras in mid to upper 4’s.

The Cardinals have hit tonight’s starter Ortiz well in the past and Gray is on the mound. So it should be a win, but Ortiz scares me. He strikes out a ton and when he’s on he’s tough to hit. So we will see.

A strategic reminder to the team- need to go 2-1 in Cleveland as it looks like Skenes game one in Pitt. Not a good scenerio to face. Need game one.

7-8 is my guess

Lose 2/3 to Clev, Chi and ATL

Win 2/3 against Wash and Pit

3-0 Clev
2-1 Pitt
1-2 cubs
2-1 Nats
2-1 Braves

We finally break through the 8 game high water mark before heading to Wrigley.

Overall 10-5

Gets us to 54-43 at the AS break.

And I see the Cubs going

1-2 Houston
2-1 Cleveland
2-1 STL
2-1 Minnesota
0-3 NYY

7-8

Puts them at 55-41 at the AS break

Gotta score. Like 22 consecutive innings scoreless.

Yep and they will. 2 RH’s in the Cleveland series, they scored 16 runs in the 2 game vs RHP vs the Cubs. And the LHP for Cleveland on Sunday is very hittable. Career 1.48 WHIP (1.50 WHIP this year). Not a swing and miss guy either. And Cleveland has the least amount of runs in baseball in the month of June. And their clear best hitter is out at least tonight.

Even with the scoreless streak the Cardinals are 8th in baseball in runs in June.

110 runs in 24 games or 4.58 runs per game. Guardians are 3 runs per game. Pirates at 3.35 runs. Nats at 3.39. Braves at 4.22. Cubs at 4.48.

Add five more to that total. Streak over.

Bigger question - when can MIL go back to losing (and playing someone other than basement dwellers)?
