Teams Calling About Hofer
Teams around the NHL have called the St. Louis Blues about the potential availability of goaltender Joel Hofer, reports Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli.
While the Blues aren't actively shopping him, they've told interested clubs they're open to receiving offers, Seravalli added.
Hofer has served as Jordan Binnington's backup since the start of the 2023-24 campaign. He's started 55 games over the last two seasons, going 31-20-4 with a .909 save percentage and 10.82 goals saved above expected, per Evolving-Hockey.

No reason to not listen to offers. Who knows, maybe our needed 2C evolves from this, maybe our RH defenseman. You can always say no.

Agreed. Listening is not the same as trading away for nothing.Whatashame wrote: ↑23 Jun 2025 21:00 pm No reason to not listen to offers. Who knows, maybe our needed 2C evolves from this, maybe our RH defenseman. You can always say no.

If Power was legitimately on the table I’d be open to moving a pretty solid haul.

Wow, what???? A 25 yr old center with one 50 pt season and Owen Power who has a ton of promise and upside for all that? No thanks. Creates a huge hole again on RW and the Blues still would need a RHD and a backup goalie. Army thankfully is smarter than thatZizzle1297 wrote: ↑23 Jun 2025 21:07 pm i hear Power can play RD

Hofer will have some value to teams who need a goalie in a bad way. Im thinking the return could be nice if Army plays his cards right. i dont think Hofer will land a legit top 6 center but Army may be able to swap Hofer for a young RFA type up and comer. Then either roll the dice on Ellis whos played extremely well in the AHL actually better numbers than Hofer put up or go out and get a cheap vet back upBackesdraft wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025 15:31 pm This is why I love Army

Re: Teams Calling About Hofer
Power is another LHD with an $8+ mill cap hit and i cant say right now thats hes better than Broberg or Fowler. LD side is too crowded and the Blues will have too much cap esp once Broberg is paid. Maybe give Jacob Benard-Docker a try if the Blues are looking to take a shot at Saber RHD. But im not giving up Hofer for JBD alonebluetunehead wrote: ↑23 Jun 2025 22:54 pm If Power was legitimately on the table I’d be open to moving a pretty solid haul.
Hofer for McLeod straight up or maybe Army includes a 2nd tier prospect such as Kaskamaki

“Right now” shouldn’t be in the debate. Having another Parayko (floor) for a decade doesn’t sound too bad.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025 16:11 pm

Fowler turns 34 this season and has over 1000 games played. I love how well he did for us but let's be realistic about what we're expecting out of him going forward.theograce wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025 16:16 pm“Right now” shouldn’t be in the debate. He was so good man. We saw a lot of this. Seth Jones played great when he moved too.bluetunehead wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025 16:23 pmFowler turns 34 this season and has over 1000 games played. But yeah, if this guy is on the market you have to be calling at minimum to know what your competitors are facing.
I see Power as another late blooming Parayko (with more upside). That’s the potential for a very good player.

Re: Teams Calling About Hofer
Maybe Power becomes one of the best LHD in the NHL or maybe Power is a very solid top 4 LHD i havent seen enough to want to pay him $8+ mill for a bunch of years. Heres a giant size dman who is softer than Broberg lol. That doesnt mean he wont be a stud but i dont like maybes for the contract or what it would take to get him. Whereas i have seen Broberg who i can extend for less than that and may very well give me the same quality.bluetunehead wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025 16:23 pmFowler turns 34 this season and has over 1000 games played. Regardless the proposed trade above is rubbish for a bunch of reasons, Faulk isnt going to Buffalo, putting one of the best RW scoring threats in the NHL in that deal is awful asset management. I would look at some combination of Hofer for McLeod though
