I understand that Sonny Gray has a no-trade clause and that he has said he wants to stay in St Louis. If he does, that’s cool. I would ask him if he would be willing to go to Atlanta in a trade. It’s even closer to his Nashville home than St Louis is. That’s not important to me, but he has said that it is important to him.
The Braves just lost Chris Sale for 2 months, or better. Gray could join a rotation with the Spencers (Strider and Schwellenbach) and would not be just a rental.
My proposal would be to send Gray and some cash for young pitching. The two I would target would be Didier Fuentes who is 20 years old and already touching the big leagues, or Garrett Baumann. Baumann is a 6’8” 245 pounder. At 20 years old, he is the Braves #7 prospect. He is currently pitching in High A.

1) Gray and 10M for Didier Fuentes.
2) Gray and 5M for Garrett Baumann.
