I don’t think that’s the whole story … on TMA, Edmonds said he didn’t want to come back, and then also, the network called and said they didn’t want him back. So, mutual, if you believe him. If Fan Duel didn't want him back, it's odd they waited until February to communicate that. It was mutual. He decided he didn't want to come back and when they called him to tell him he wasn't going to be invited back he was relieved. So he was fired and he quit both.
Not sure if Sweeney is his replacement officially or how many games he does. Is Sweeney his replacement? I haven't heard anyone else other than him and Thompson on the games. Doesn't Ankiel live in FL? And every time he was on the telecasts, he worked remotely from his home?
I guess so as long as the replacement has been in the booth before. If I was an analyst, I would appreciate more notice if I'm suddenly going to travel a lot more than I expected. I wonder if Fan Duel renegotiated Sweeney's contract? As far as the timing, it’s media, so kind of a unique business. I think Edmonds was on record saying he didn’t want to call Spring Training. Real games don’t start until end of March, so that is plenty of notice.

No matter what, he is awful on air. So is Brad. Sweeney ain’t bad. I still miss Ankiel.
