Get you really like Lakovic but what current wingers/ up and coming wingers do you envision the Blues trading in the future then? Can only play 8 (and 6 in top 9)

Buchnevich, Snuggerud, Holloway, Kyrou, Neighbours, Bolduc, Stenberg, Pekarcik, Jecho, Peterson, Robertson, Stancl, Kaskimaki, Mrsic.
(realize not all will make NHL and Kaskimaki and Mrsic can play center but still abundance of wingers)

Just depends..they won't keep all those guys and Lakovic easily fits in with the top 6 you mentioned there.

Lakovic is a tough one to judge because he's a long term Tage Thompson project. He's 6'4" and has excellent hands/playmaking ability & shot, but there's zero bite to his game, he is really, really soft. Spence is the opposite, a sure thing for the third line. Then there's Kindel who is in a Schwartizer mold. These are the three players (Lakovic, Spence and Kindel) who are a tier down, but right kind of exactly where the Blues sit.

I am warming up to Kindel more and more....went back and watched quite a few of his games. I would not be disappointed with that pick at all. At this point though...not changing anything in regards to who I would like to see the Blues take. I've seen enough of Lakovic to know there is real stud potential there. I am not concerned about the bite in his games...you still need the skillset that he brings. It takes a village to hoist a cup!

Thanks for the post.

Reschny at 31? This guy loses all credibility with that choice.

Nah...Brock Otten is somewhat legit. There are just players he likes better.

There’s really no denying Lakovic is quite skilled and he also brings really good size. There’s absolutely some potential there. But he’s soft as butter and seems to really lack a compete level. Those are 2 big red flags that’d make me pass on him at 19. But if he does end up being the Blues pick, I just hope someone can help set a fire under his butt, because as of now, he reminds me a lot of Charlie Stramel, Logan Brown and Zach Sanford.

Those are absolutely the vibes I get from Lakovic when I watch his lackadaisical play.

It's a long term project at a position where they're already stocked with young talent. His upside is real but it's not a slam dunk and could be a whiff.

That’s a good point too. If we’re going to take a risk I’d prefer it not be at LW. Or LD for that matter either.

He was getting a lot of praise yesterday on one of the satellite xm shows. He sounds like the RHD that we need.

Why?

I like him and would be fine with him as the pick but curious as to why you say him or bust.

And what if he’s picked already before pick 19? Then what?
