Matt Duchene back to DAL
Matt Duchene’s four-year extension with #TexasHockey carries a $4.5 million AAV.
Re: Matt Duchene back to DAL
He definitely could've gotten more on the open market

Dallas has to be looking to make a major trade. They have 455k left in cap space after this signing and only have 16 players under contract.
I think that also ensures Granlund won't be back.

I concur.Cardsfanforlife wrote: ↑19 Jun 2025 10:19 amsure, but for me anything is too much for a playoff ghost.
Only 3 goals and 12 points in 37 games over the last 2 playoff seasons.
-16 as well.
He plays well in the regular season when there is more open ice.
Complete dog in the playoffs.

Weren't there reports that they were shopping Robertson (precisely because of their cap predicament)?TheJackBurton wrote: ↑19 Jun 2025 10:23 am Dallas has to be looking to make a major trade. They have 455k left in cap space after this signing and only have 16 players under contract.

I think this is the prelude to that happening.
Re: Matt Duchene back to DAL
Mavrick Bourque would be a great target from Dallas for Blues at 3rd line center. He’s going to get offer sheeted if they don’t make space
Re: Matt Duchene back to DAL
Blues don't have a 2nd round pick, so they can either offer $1,544,424 to $2,340,037 for a 3rd rounder, or $4,680,076 to $7,020,113 for a 1st and 3rd rounder.
I agree, would be a nice pickup.

it's not just a 2nd round pick.. it has to be STL's own pickSweetred95ta wrote: ↑19 Jun 2025 10:48 amThey didn't have one when they planned to offer sheet Broburg, either. Army can find one if he needs to.
that's how we ended up trading Hayes and a pick to PITT

No. They were able to get theirs back from Pitt last year because it was only a little bit later.Sweetred95ta wrote: ↑19 Jun 2025 10:48 amThey didn't have one when they planned to offer sheet Broburg, either. Army can find one if he needs to.
Pitt won't trade it back to us again and delay it another year.
Re: Matt Duchene back to DAL
I was saying Blues should trade for him before July 1. Aware of the offer sheet situation.

I definitely forgot about that detail. That puts a wrench in things, then.moose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑19 Jun 2025 10:49 am it's not just a 2nd round pick.. it has to be STL's own pick

Re: Matt Duchene back to DAL
Doubtful we could get PIT to delay the 2nd we owe them yet another year. Better play would probably be to just try to trade for Bourque and not go the offer sheet route.
I expect Dallas to do everything they can to keep Bourque though. I think he’s going to be good.
