He looked BAD three years ago. At best, he projects as a 3rd/4th line C, and even that is iffy. There are better bottom six bets than a guy who hasn't played in 2 years.

Jay Bou looked horrible before he recovered too. You never know -Army's Mom wrote: ↑16 Jun 2025 11:16 am He looked BAD three years ago. At best, he projects as a 3rd/4th line C, and even that is iffy. There are better bottom six bets than a guy who hasn't played in 2 years.

Not a valid comparison. JayBow was fighting back and hip injuries.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑16 Jun 2025 11:21 amJay Bou looked horrible before he recovered too. I know...it seems like those injuries would be much harder to come back from than long covid.Aesa wrote: ↑16 Jun 2025 11:25 amNot a valid comparison. Re: Would you take a chance on toews
I’d bet on the Jets being his spot
Re: Would you take a chance on toews
IF he does play again, I assume he'll want to play on a team that has a legit chance at winning the Stanley Cup. One of those contending teams will also be required to want him to play for them. It will be interesting to see where he lands if it even happens.

I vote no. I don't see the value. He doesn't fit in to what we have developing.
We have to players we need. We just need some of them to get experience.

I could see the Oilers signing him, especially if they lose in the final again

Maybe to you, or me. But a doctor can look at Jaybo and see that everything is back to being sound. Can't do that with long COVID - so much of it is guesswork.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑16 Jun 2025 11:34 amI know...it seems like those injuries would be much harder to come back from than long covid.Aesa wrote: ↑16 Jun 2025 11:25 amNot a valid comparison. Someone will take him, but I doubt he's a successful mid six center on a playoff team next year - which is what we'd need him to be.
Re: Would you take a chance on toews
back to Chicago for him if he still wants to play. They are the only ones with a valid reason to dress him.

I am with S O B on this one. I threw up in my mouth a bit with the thought of Toews wearing the Blue note. NO!!!

Re: Would you take a chance on toews
Could totally see Q wanting him in Anaheim to mentor Carlsson and McTavish.
I don't see a point to bringing him here. He'd be most valuable as a mentor to Dvorsky, but they'd probably be fighting for the same roster spot.
Re: Would you take a chance on toews
Man I don't like him but I sure wouldn't bet against him. Probably not a chance we should take though.
