What is David Backes' role now with the Blues?
I read when he retired as a Blue that he had taken "A Position With The Team". Any ideas if he is still with the team and in what capacity? I loved the guy, especially when he fought everyone before the Olympics. I agreed it was smart to let him go, but I was a little sad he wasn't on the Cup team.

I don’t recall him having an official role with the team, or at least don’t think he still does. It was definitely bittersweet knowing he was on the other side of the ice when we won the Cup. Wish he could have still been with the team, but letting him go was definitely the right call.

Backes takes Barclay out for a poop after Barclay eats all the spilled nachos, TRavs, and hotdogs on the club box floors.

If anything they should cut back on the nepotism/former Blues in bogus positions who are just collecting a check, not add to that fraternity. But it aint my money so it’s not really a big deal unless there’s too many chefs in the kitchen and it hurts the goal of winnin Cups

Pretty sure the cost of those hires is a small fraction of the overall team costs.SameOldBlues wrote: ↑16 Jun 2025 13:06 pm If anything they should cut back on the nepotism/former Blues in bogus positions who are just collecting a check, not add to that fraternity. From my google search, David Backes doesn't have a job with the Blues. So not sure if it's accurate. If he does, I would guess it's probably as some sort of part-time scout.

Odd this would be listed on a random soccer website and not the Blues website…DawgDad wrote: ↑16 Jun 2025 18:37 pm https://www.ratesoccernews.com/2025/06/ ... fice-role/
Great work, if you can get it.

LOL - that website looks totally fake and the article reads like it was created by AI
Re: What is David Backes' role now with the Blues?
I never hear of David Backes even participating in any Blues Alumni events. Occasionally he is interviewed on radio and my impression is that he is living in California. Don't quote me on that location. A position with the Blues...haha. Might be running a dog kennel no kill shelter somewhere.
Quick search shows he was born in Minneapolis and opened a restaurant in 2022 somewhere in Minn ..A food place named Stalk & Spade..but he restaurant closed Nov 1 2023. So maybe David needs a job

Yeah this story is totally fabricated. A press conference at the rink with Doug Armstrong? Definitely didn’t happen.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑16 Jun 2025 21:05 pmEspecially since it was only 2 days ago.
