Would you rest Gray and Fedde for Cubs series?

Post by Bad14 »

I was thinking of the rotation and the importance of the Cubs series. Would you skip Gray and Fedde in the upcoming series so they can face the Cubs or would you just let the rotation play out as it's set? Gray hasn't been great lately so I wonder if he could benefit from rest. I don't want Pallante, Mikolas, and Liberatore starting the Cubs series. McGreevy could pitch Tuesday and Sunday. But for the bloop hit by Kim, his start against the Dodgers was solid. Liberatore could pitch Wednesday. Leaves a hole for Thursday. Matz for 4 innings?

It really doesn’t matter how they set up the rotation. Cubs aren’t scoring runs lately. The Cardinals aren’t hitting either. it might be four game scores like the just finished cub/pirate series.

I think it could matter but of course Oli can't think outside the box so we're getting Pallante, Mikolas, and Liberatore

Huh? They play the Cubs Monday-Thursday next week. So if Gray and Fedde pitch as scheduled Wednesday and Thursday this week against the ChiSox, they will face the Cubbies Monday and Tuesday next week in the 1st 2 games of the series.

Don't feel bad. Dusty Blake misreads the rotation schedule every week. You could be his assistant . :D
