Baseball is weird. We held the Dodgers to zeros, but each bookend series gave up 20 runs each.
Why- three sports phenomena. One- playing up to your competition. Two- emotional letdown from Dodgers series, and three, over looking Royals to Dodgers.
The entire home stand turned on that 7-2 lead against Royals we lost. We lost focus at that point, and good teams will punish the lost. We got lost.
42 Runs is 7 runs per those six games. Not survivable.
That’s 13 hits per gane; 3 walks per game; 16 offensive baserunners per game- that’s two runners per inning times eight
innings not survivable. Result- pitchers constantly in stretch- catchers always anxious with base running. Team always playing from behind.
