Oilers are filled with good stories and outcasts

Post by theograce »

They must be a really tight room. It’s like this is a spiritual mission for them.

Kappy from his DUI to being an impact player in a cup final lol. He had tears in his eyes last night and said “These are the best days of my life.” It was quite powerful. He has demons. I saw them

Kane and his whole money/gambling/poor financial and attitude thing and relationship issues…to throwing 10 hits and blowing up leaders like Ekblad. Tkachuk mocks him about his past and he hates Tkachuk.

Walman and being booted out of Detroit with a don’t come back sign on him to playing a big role.

Skinner who everyone outside of Edm has mocked

Old man Perry who was told he’s too slow looking like he’s 30

Arvidson playing likes 20 pounds heavier

Klingberg who again … people thought he was done.

Outcasts, maybe but they are supported by:

2009 Kane 4th overall
2011 RNH 1st overall
2013 Nurse 7th overall
2014 Leon 3rd overall
2015 McDavid 1st overall
2018 Bouchard 10th overall
2019 Podkolzin 10th overall

The Oilers were a bad team for a quite awhile it would be a shame if they dont win one

Their best line was the Kapanen line last night by far. Hyman was setting NHL playoff records … where was he drafted?

The Oilers are setting franchise records for number of players to score in a playoff. That’s incredible given their history.

The most impressive part of it all is down to a man they are hunting the hunters.

You know Broberg and Holloway are somewhere thinking about what could have been for them.

These guys dream their lives of this. I wouldn’t want them on the Blues if they weren’t thinking what if?

Weird take

Not sure which is more funny....counting chickens before they hatch AGAIN or witnessing one of the most blatant belated band wagon jumps from the king of wagon jumpers.

And this one comes with fake tears for the 7 top ten pick team on the ice.

Why is everything over your head? I mean I bet they aren’t thinking about how amazing it would be to play in the final again (with maybe increased roles) … with the greatest hockey player in the history of the game …. Win or lose.

Nahhhh

That was a exciting game last night. Cant ask for much more from a hockey fan without a dog in the fight. High shot totals, grimy play, desperation. Im ready for it to be our time. This series shows we need some size and grit from our next RD with a splash of skating ability with some nasty.

Bold thing to say about Kapanen but I’ll allow it.

I wonder if Broberg and Holloway were somewhere thinking about what it would have been like to get embarrassed in 2OT last night.

TBone, I’m guessing Broberg and Holloway are sitting somewhere right now, thinking about the 8-year contracts they are going to be signing soon because they got the chance to play major roles on one of the most exciting up & coming teams in the league and they both excelled. I’m guessing those two have ZERO regrets despite what our friend suggests.

Let's see now. They got a taste of SCF hockey, watched the front office make moves to marginalize them, then elected of their own free will to sign offer sheets TO LEAVE for more money and playing opportunity. Regrets? Ha!
