Re: Steve Ott
Chief might but considering Ott has worked with both and loves this area, I doubt he would uproot his family to go to that pressure cooker.

Re: Steve Ott
I really don't know what Ott brings to the table as a value added. A great guy in the lockerrroom but what has he really contributed that puts him on a pedestal over say someone like mike van ryn? As a player, Armey brought him along in the miller trade for veteran grit/leadership. Yeah his chirps were great but we lost badly in the first round to chicago. Same theme throughout his tenure as a player. And as a coach? Career assistant sorry. Would much rather have brad shaw taking over his portfolio. We would have won game 7 in winnipeg. Sorry to be harsh but we kicked chief to the curb not sure why otter gets so much leeway.
Re: Steve Ott
Sometimes its more about developing than contributing, Ott was probably brought in to learn to contribute later.IsDurbanodoingtime wrote: ↑04 Jun 2025 23:20 pm I really don't know what Ott brings to the table as a value added. Re: Steve Ott
Ott doesn't run the D, so if we were to bring in Shaw, Ott would still be here.IsDurbanodoingtime wrote: ↑04 Jun 2025 23:20 pm I really don't know what Ott brings to the table as a value added. Ott is more in control of the offense and the PP.
Re: Steve Ott
He's been here for some 7 years now through multiple coaching changes and a Stanley Cup. I'd say he's well liked players and staff and competent if not actually good at his coaching job.
We'll see what Monty does but they have a past relationship too. My money says he stays here.

Re: Steve Ott
I'm guessing Otters great behind the scenes because he has survived numerous coaching changes. Must be good with the X's and O's.

He brings more to the Blues than you’re bringing to this forumIsDurbanodoingtime wrote: ↑04 Jun 2025 23:20 pm I really don't know what Ott brings to the table as a value added. Re: Steve Ott
Ott is valuable because he's not that far removed from his playing days. He can relate to this generation still and help deliver the message to the group.

Re: Steve Ott
How long is that true for? It’s been 8-9 years since he’s played…not since 2016.Section315 wrote: ↑05 Jun 2025 21:13 pm Ott is valuable because he's not that far removed from his playing days. He can relate to this generation still and help deliver the message to the group.
