Jose Barrero

Jose Barrero had been playing and hitting well at Memphis when called up and had one good game but has since had very limited chances. With the very unfortunate wrist injury to Jordan Walker might this be a good time to give Jose Barrero some steady playing time. He seems versatile and potentially a player whose skill set could be invaluable.

He hasnt looked great offensively and never did anything in previous years in mlb. Hes versatile in the field but pretty bad defensively at each position.

Good summation. He looks like an athlete, but he isn't very good.

Look for Burleson to play more RF and Gorman to get more at bats as a result.

That’s why he went from being a top prospect to being picked up by the cardinals for nothing. He hasn’t been able to harness all of the talent into actual production.

If not now then why is he in the system?

I’m afraid JB is just another AAAA guy that will show flashes of MLB talent and then revert to his career mean. I hope Bloom doesn’t keep too many of these guys in the system. Ideally, IL stints like JW’s create opportunity for true prospects. Sadly, Mo won’t give Koperniak a shot.

Koperniak is hitting .205 with a .592 ops in Memphis

Yeah, I know. I just want us to filter all these AAAA guys through the system. He looks like another one. What we really need is some more bonafide prospects.

Is Saggesse incapable of playing the OF? I don't think they should move Donovan off 2B. He's just too good there. But we need someone to take his place as a super utility player.

Is Saggesse hitting at Memphis?

Just checked. Not tearing it up but not awful stats.

“Very little chances.”

Yes, this was a big reason why Siani made the mlb roster out of ST.

Not because Marmol liked Siani better, but because, at the time, there was little playing time left. And a stellar def replacement and PR made more sense…
