Reds win it 6-2 !! Yes, the Reds bullpen did hold . Gave up 2 in the 8th ..none in the 9th
Cards gotta pick up a game tonight.
Sure would be nice. Cardinal players will be smiling as they prep for tonight's game seeing the Red/Cubs final score posted on the scoreboard.
Cardinals need to stay within 3 until the Cubs schedule gets a little more challenging. The Cubs have Detroit and Phillie coming up pretty soon.
Teams in the same division have >90% schedule overlap. They're all effectively playing the same teams, with a handful of exceptions such as the scheduled "rivalry" games.

Yes, the Cards concentrate on winning their own games. No control over what the Cubs do . They may lose this series to the Reds but win the series vs. Tigers and Phillies. Players don't look at opponents records like fans do .
