Some 7day/15day offensive trends to watch

Post by rockondlouie »

Super Small Sample Size but offensive is trending downward.

Last 7 days:

-Noot
.053 .143 .053 .196
1 walk/8 KO's

-WillyC
.182 .250 .182 .432

-Ivan
.211 .333 .211 .544

-Winn
.190 .250 .333 .583

-VSII
.294 .368 .353 .721
(trending upward again)

-NADO
.167 .211 .444 .655

-Pages
.077 .077 .308 .385

*Noot, Burleson and Donovan haven't driven in a run the last 7 days

Last 15 days:

-Noot
.224 .259 .306 .565

-WillyC
.205 .238 .282 .520

-Ivan
.378 .453 .511 .964
(No issue in larger 15 day sample size)

-Winn
.265 .351 .449 .800
(No issue in larger 15 day sample size)

-VSII
.216 .310 .270 .580

-NADO
.128 .160 .234 .394

-Pages
.129 .129 .323 .452

Over the last 15 days Ivan & Winn (Donny, Walker & Burleson too) are the only one's performing.

Over the last 7 days/15 days longer stretch struggles from Noot, WillyC, NADO and Pages are concerning.

Team Last 7 days:
.202 .267 .290 .557 (ranked 29th in MLB)

Team Last 15 days:
.254 .306 .379 .685 (ranked 20th in MLB)

Of course all seasons see players/teams who are "Up" and then who are "Down", hopefully that's all we're seeing here and it's only a short term issue.

This has always been the concern that these hitters would revert back to their norms. Now look out for the starting pitching. And if it’s going to happen, let’s hope it shows itself before the trade deadline so Cards don’t miss an opportunity to improve for the next couple of years.

Yes. We are doing this regardless of our success this year. As to the hitting. They all can’t go bad at once, so someone or two will emerge to carry the team. Then the struggling will get hot.

Good news story.

It was weird for Oli not to play Burleson yesterday.

Not too concerned right now. We just came off a massive sweep of the Dbacks. Recently we’ve faced a mix of really good and really bad pitching.

Orioles (3rd worst in RA/G) currently
Dbacks (7th worst in RA/G)
Tigers (8th best in RA/G)
Royals (2nd best in RA/G)
Phillies (13th best in RA/G)

After Baltimore we face the Rangers who are the 4th best in RA/G.

Win the next 2 vs Baltimore and we get another series win.

Just think. If Nado turns that double play, at worse we lose 3-2. Whole new game.

Good point swats

IF this team is going to slip, then let it be before the trade deadline so they can start selling off (and no I'm not giving up on the season, just being realistic) Helsley, Fedde, Matz and Mikolas if he'll waive the NTC.

NADO could be gone too but we know he won't waive unless it's his preferred landing spot.

What got me looking was being shutdown yesterday by a 41 year old who came in w/a 7.68 ERA.

Let's hope they win tonight (and tomorrow weather permitting).

I will say this.......as Noot goes, so goes this offense.

He's the ignitor that gets things rolling.
