Any truth to Swedes being soft?
Toronto fans are convinced that Swedes are soft. Across the NHL history, there have been very few exceptions, they say. They are particularly interested and perturbed because of Nylander. He is one of the "Core 4" there, and he went Marshmallow against Florida -- similar to Kyrou against Winnipeg.
Thoughts on swedes? Hockey players not the girls.

Ethnic stereotyping, hiding behind "Toronto fans" as if you speak for them, know what they think.
No, they aren't. The game played over there is slightly different, bigger rink, more space.

I'm reading articles from Toronto about the loss. Anyone can do the same. See for yourself.

Right. I can't say that I ever noticed a trend towards softness. Peter Forsberg was tough.

Every one of them are harder than the troll op.
Re: Any truth to Swedes being soft?
Ethnic stereotyping is highly inappropriate regardless if you are the originator or someone trying to further promulgate the narrative. And your misogynist reference to Swedish girls has no redeeming value whatsoever. We can only hope that this Forum's Moderator takes the appropriate action to eliminate your provocative and immature behavior. It actually does not reflect well upon the ST. LOUIS POST DISPATCH to otherwise tolerate it.

That tripe was disproved within a few years.
There IS truth in the statement, “Leaf fans are entitled pinheads with tiny and selective memories”.
One of their very own proved your post untrue… nightly, in Toronto forty years ago.

Did I mention they were (mostly) entitled pinheads with tiny and selective memories?

Re: Any truth to Swedes being soft?
A lot of this originated in the '70s when Maple Leafs owner Harold Ballard famously said his Swedish winger Inge Hammerstrom (later a Blue) "could play an entire game with a dozen eggs in his sweater and not crack a single one."
When the Leafs removed their sweaters after Game 7, I wonder how many uncracked eggs fell out.
If the Oilers top Dallas in the other series, they're going to have to enclose McDavid and Draisaitl in bubble wrap vs. Florida.

The funniest one I heard from Toronto fans...
Cherries grow in the North, not the South. Players that only travel 100 feet North, not 100 feet South, are cherry pickers. And then they said that "Nylander" is Swedish for "he who picks Cherries".

Berube in Toronto is proof that Berube is a fighter. He will be fighting the soft players on the ice, and the hard heads in the stands.

Locking this one down.
It's inappropriate in the same way asking if other nationalities or races are "soft" would be inappropriate.
