And three of those four loses were by a single run meaning they could've gone either way.jcgmoi wrote: ↑22 May 2025 12:07 pm bbref does these every Thursday. Fifth ain't first but it ain't bad.

That's why I can't get too down about the Detroit series. We dogwalked them in game one, and could've come away from game 2. Three was kind of a stinker. It happens.rockondlouie wrote: ↑22 May 2025 12:30 pmAnd three of those four loses were by a single run meaning they could've gone either way.jcgmoi wrote: ↑22 May 2025 12:07 pm bbref does these every Thursday. To me, what I see from this team is encouraging. We're not ready for PRIMEtime, but I don't think we're terribly far. Seems like we've heard some form of "we battled but came up short" for years now, but this team actually does justice to "battle", you know what I mean?
"Fun" is the best word for it. Victor Scott is fun to watch on both sides of the ball. Masyn Winn is fun to watch on both sides. Liberatore has been fun to watch. Herrera is becoming a bat that you want to see in crunch time. These are legitimate building blocks that we've got. We need more. But this is a MUCH better start to a youth movement than I thought we'd have.rockondlouie wrote: ↑22 May 2025 13:09 pmSame hereStrummer Jones wrote: ↑22 May 2025 13:06 pmThat's why I can't get too down about the Detroit series. Tigers are the best team in MLB and the Cardinals beat the tar out of them, lost a one run battle against the reigning CY Young award winner and got beat 5-1 in the finale.
I think they've proven to themselves and any fair Cardinals fan that they can compete with and beat the best teams and pitchers.
Fun team, I like the chemistry they're forming.

Need that one 2019-2022: .291 .376 .516 .892 "Goldy like" MOTO bat to make this a really scary lineup!Strummer Jones wrote: ↑22 May 2025 13:16 pm"Fun" is the best word for it. I agree the fact that they got to skubal shows they aren’t just over matched by dominant pitchers the first one they demolished them the last one was 5-1rockondlouie wrote: ↑22 May 2025 13:09 pmSame hereStrummer Jones wrote: ↑22 May 2025 13:06 pmThat's why I can't get too down about the Detroit series.
