P Liam Doyle Tenn.on TV today vs. Texas 3 pm SEC Network
Doyle is the SEC Pitcher of the Year with the lefty expected to go very early in the upcoming draft .
Today Doyle faces a Texas team who won the SEC Championship regular season title.
Thought you may like to take a look at him on TV if you have the SEC Network on your TV system.

If he is not taken in the Top 4 ,he certainly could be one of the Cardinal considerations at No. 5

Re: P Liam Doyle Tenn.on TV today vs. Texas 3 pm SEC Network
with #5 comes great responsibility...it's like being Spiderman.

Reliever risk, I wouldn't at #5. That being said, he's dominated a ton of games. My biggest concern, and this goes with the Reliever risk, he throws his fastball over 75% of the time in games....no major leaguer does that outside of relievers....Trevor Rosenthal rings a bell for me. He doesn't throw any secondary pitch more than 10% of the time....Major League starters have a 3 pitch mix, with 2 of those having different variants, and their fastball having 2-3 variants...thus breaking all their pitches down under 25% thrown.
He's not that...he'd take a lot of time to become that. Do we have the infrastructure to fix him? Not right now, imo. I know teams like the Dodgers and Mariners do...elite infrastructures.
I'd personally pass, but I think he's great player and where ever he's drafted he'll be good...I just don't know the role right now.

Thanks for the indepth critique on him . If you don't mind me picking your brain again , I have had good vibes reading the reports on Aiva Arquettecraviduce wrote: ↑22 May 2025 13:43 pmwith #5 comes great responsibility...it's like being Spiderman.![]()

6-5 and excellent hitter. Some think he could be gone prior to Cards 5th pick but if he would be on board, do you feel he is a gem long term ?

Lance Lynn called, he'd like a word & a sandwich, although I generally agree on Doyle. To me, he looks like his floor might be decent closer. He also might need TJ before he makes it to the MLs. I also think that it is generally a bad idea to bring up potential starters as relievers. The exception (IMHO) is when you can give them a taste & help the team at the same time. I don't think it hurts most pitcher's development to spend a couple of weeks in middle relief.craviduce wrote: ↑22 May 2025 13:43 pmwith #5 comes great responsibility...it's like being Spiderman.![]()

Also, and I thought every single person on here knew this: Velocity doesn't mean much for LHP. Movement & location. 100 mph FB is nice but 90% of good LHPs are the ones who can break it off & know where it is going.

Not well! Allowed 4 runs in 3+ innings
Had to run errands so didn’t see it yet..taping the game )
Vols came back from 4-0 to tie it
8th inning now

Arquette is the scouting industry darling. He did well in Washington for 2 seasons, and he's done well in his 1st year with Oregon State....consistency, they like that. In a year where offense has been well below what we had last season, the consistency shown bright this year with mocks....and that was Arquette. He's not going to knock your knees, or wet your whistle, but he'll play good defense, hit for a decent average, and he may hit 15-20 HR's...."May". You don't need to get drunk to make him look pretty, but he's not a "10" when you're sober either.
I have others I'd draft at #5. But I think he's a good pick. I hope the teams above us take him, so we don't have to worry about him.
Re: P Liam Doyle Tenn.on TV today vs. Texas 3 pm SEC Network
Thanks,.Duce!
Glad I don’t have to get drunk to like him. Otherwise might have to go to weekly AA ( Aiva Arquette) meeting.
