When Ryan Helsley comes into relieve the Cards have 4 players starting drafted in the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th rounds. Helsley was drafted in the 5th round.
That is pretty impressive. Can you name them?

Just guessing, but Donovan, Noot, Pages and ............................ Burleson? I don't consider Burly a starter, but that's my guess anyway

Victor Scott. Herrera was an international FA.

Thanks Tank. I'm surprised that VS2 was so late with his elite speed.

We really should do more in the international markets. Some teams have a lot of success there, while others are too cheap the spend the $.

It isn't always being cheap. The Cards strategy the past decade has been to carpet bomb with tons of lower $$ contracts, while ignoring the top prospects and putting more $$ to the top-rated guys.
I know it is not an exact science at 16/17 YO but this organization has had no success with the quantity of lower priced deals.
I would like to see them go big and blow most of the pool on a top-rated prospect for once.

I'm happy with the starting lineup and DH.
