Last night's loss stands out

Post by imadangman »

Back to back losses now, for the first time since May 1-2, to Cincy and NY. Then 13-3 from that point up to last night's game.

Some of us said 3-3 would be acceptable in this 6 game stretch against KC and Detroit. But this team was hot, hot, hot, and in a position to win last night. They let a rally go to waste in which Arenado had a key HR, and the offense really fought against Skubal and their pen. Imagine the confidence they'd have gained from pulling out that win. We would have been talking about a very special Cardinal team and people outside of St Louis probably would be too.

Let's hope they can get back on track in the Arizona series. They're a good team too. But I'd hate to see two series losses in a row. If this team wants to be good this is the stretch where they need to lay it down. You've got Arizona, Baltimore, Texas coming up. If they're a good team they should be taking these teams into the fence right now.

The top 6 in the lineup looks set, and it's a winnable group. You just have to mix and match the last 3 spots. Be smart, you have enough pieces that you don't need to be playing Gorman.

I could get behind sitting Gorman.

The team isn't winning 80 percent of their games for the rest of the year. There will be many more losses, some of them more wearing than last night's.

It's a long season.

Now they blame him for losing 2 of 3 against the team with the best record

So the board's a moth around a flame. Dim flame, dim moth. They'll revert soon enough.
