Panthers look like a modern day dynasty
If they win this year a case can be made.
Big, talented and nasty
Hate em

I picked a good time to embrace a second team…

In my defense, I jumped on before the success. The last Huby year was the first time I was down in Sunrise regularly. Now I’ve probably been to all but two of the playoff games down here since the Vegas playoff run and they were still questioned at that point. Having a blast at the games down here with the same group of fans in the section.
But yea, they are built for this time of year.

If the Cats keep playing like they are nobody can beat them. They cover so well everywhere on the ice. Talk about opportunistic. They capitalize on most of their opportunities. Not really a mean streak in them, just tough hitting hockey.MiamiLaw wrote: ↑20 May 2025 22:09 pmIn my defense, I jumped on before the success. They are just a relentless team. Over a 7 game series, I’d only pick Dallas a their match.JR1 wrote: ↑20 May 2025 22:19 pmIf the Cats keep playing like they are nobody can beat them. Oilers were a goal away last year. I think the oil beats Dallas, but I won’t be surprised either wayMiamiLaw wrote: ↑20 May 2025 22:28 pmThey are just a relentless team. Re: Panthers look like a modern day dynasty
I was really hoping Carolina would show us something more but man they were just not at Florida’s level.
Re: Panthers look like a modern day dynasty
It's crazy to think, that if they beat Carolina, the last 6 SCF will have a hockey team from Florida in it.
Re: Panthers look like a modern day dynasty
It's not IF they beat Carolina, it's WHEN. If you can win the state of Florida battle, you are in the finals. I'm not sure why this is so surprising. Look at both teams rosters, they are both loaded. Lately the Panthers are so much more physical than everybody else it's not close with their scoring talent too. The Russian goalies down here can be lights out too.

If the Oil beat Dallas, big if......but if they do I know this will be the most cliche thing you read on the board today but man it's true......it's the goaltending for EDM. If they get the Skinner that started the LA series FL might not lose a game in that series. If they get the Skinner (or Pickard) who showed up at the end of the LA series and most of the Vegas series, well then we might have a real solid series to discuss.
It should also be noted that Bob has been standing on his head for the better part of the playoffs. We talk about how fluid and nasty the Panthers offense is and how well the D plays, but he has saved their hides more than once.
All of this of course assumes FL continues to knee pipe the Canes. Not seeing much to show me this series goes past five games after last night.

Canes were not connected most all night. I think Rod will have something to say about that.
Florida my least fave team of the four standing. They lack a personality for me. They're like a bunch of machines.

Re: Panthers look like a modern day dynasty
Well I don't take much stock in this game.
Panthers were only off for 2 days while Carolina was off for 4 so rust was likely a factor.
However, this has been Carolinas M.O. ease through the first 2 rounds, then get absolutely pummeled in the 3rd.
If you are Carolina you need a statement game, and you need it bad in Game 2.
As for Florida, they are on the lightning trajectory. Likely going to their third straight cup final, won 1 lost 1, will be losing players via UFA, stars will be another year older, still very talented team that will win a good amount, however no draft picks coming up, very little in the way of prospects, and will do everything they can to keep it going.
If the Blues were in the same boat, I wouldn't regret a single moment of it either.
